How To Quiet Down High On Life's Very Chatty Guns

It's very easy to add a silencer to High on Life's talkative arsenal.

On a scale of 1-10, the idea of listening to Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland talk for hours on end usually rates high enough to be considered a violation of the Geneva Conventions. Funny in small doses and lethal when constantly exposed to it, you'll be hearing Roiland's voice a lot in High on Life, the latest project from Squanch Games.

There's a lot to love about the game, from its bright art direction to how it skewers first-person shooter games in general, but its arsenal of incredibly chatty guns might be a turn-off to some people. Fortunately, there are two very easy solutions to this, as a recent patch tones down the chatter and gives you more freedom of control when listening to a sentient knife with a space-Australian accent talk about their violent kinks.

The first step is easy enough: Simply head to the main menu, select settings, and under audio, toggle Gun Chatter to your preferences. You can either turn off the chatty firearms completely, set them to occasional, or retain the frequent dialog if you're up for an audio endurance test.

It's that easy.
It's that easy.

High on Life is out right now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, and if you have an active Game Pass subscription, you can download the first-person shooter which tasks you with saving humanity from an alien space cartel who get "high" on our species. GameSpot's High on Life review is forthcoming, but for now, you can read a roundup of what other critics have to say about the game.
